Birds Of A Feather.

"Freedom is the birthright and deep desire of every human soul, and spreading freedom's blessings is the calling of our time."

-President Bush, in his March 5th radio address, 2005

"Human learning, the ultimate end of which is to regulate distributive justice...is highly commendable, yet not so deserving of the most sublime praise as the profession of arms, the object and the end of which is peace, the greatest good that mortals can enjoy...This peace is the genuine aim of war."

-Don Quixote, Chapter X, Book IV

Or, as George Orwell so aptly said, "War is peace", and "Slavery is freedom."

All this makes perfect sense to us good cynics, but, come to think of it, what can we make of the opposite? It should make better sense, huh? Okay, try this: Peace is war. Conjures up all kinds of strange ideas, doesn't it? How about: Freedom is slavery. I'm thinking this would make a pretty good essay of some kind. Ha ha.

Nice juxtaposition of quotes. And Stan, I hope to see that essay soon! It really is fun to play with our metaphors.

What are you trying to say Matt?...that our president is as delusional as Don Quixote?

    I thought so...

Delusional? President Bush? No, no, I'm trying to say that Don Quixote is as noble and honorable as our beloved president. God bless him. :P
