Grrrr...

A virus ate my computer, which is now in the techno-hospital. People suck.

[Update 12-22-05]: Well, my computer had to be sent to Toshiba for fixin'. It shouldn't cost too much to fix, but since I'm broke I won't be able to get it back until a paycheck or two comes my way. Which is strange since, somehow, I've managed to afford gallons and gallons of Booze Nog. Huh. Anyway, I'm borrowing a friends laptop for the night, sorry for the inexcusable lack of posting and replies. Send me a lump a coal for Christmas, I've earned it.

Thanks

I am so sorry to hear that. Hope your computer makes it through okay. I'd send flowers, but it is a computer, and probably wouldn't appreciate the gesture.

On a lighter note, my word verification is ivyzap. That rocks.

What OS were you using? One of the reasons I love my iMacs is that they never get viruses. See if you have a Goodwill computer store; they aren' very expensive used.

I was wondering what happened to you. You've been so quiet lately.

Damn I got a virus a couple of months back, fucked up the whole start up sequence, slowed everyting up - still not sure what it was - ran Norton over it a couple of times - still not solved.

I'm just waiting for a virus to eat my PC. We have DSL, and it doesn't seem like it's possible to keep the virii out of this danged thing.

Snave, do you have a Firewall? We have DSL on Dad's Linux network, and he doesn't really get viruses. With Macs it doesn't matter.

Also, never click on .exe files that get sent in email. They are always viruses. Seems like there are some other file types that are always viruses, but I have not seen any for a while.

How did that happen? Were you having unprotected digital input intercourse with your computer system? Firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware, etc etc? If you didn't have anything but want something that's an all-in-one solution, I suggest you check out Zone Alarms - www.zonealarms.com. I've been using it for years and it works, plus it's nice and cheap compared to the likes of Norton.

Anyhooooo.... how ya doing, matey? It's been a while! x

Oh my Gawd! The computer virus ate Matt!!! Somebody save him!!!!

Maybe try emailing him. It may just be Xmas Season blues.

After all, he is a born again atheist living in the deep south. That kind of sucks this time of year, especially when you consider what he said about having come from a religious background. :-(

Matt--You alive? Talk to me, man! How bad was this virus anyway? Should we be talking about the computer flu? Can it be transmitted to humans? Aaaaaah!
