A Day of Joy

Sounds like yesterday's "Day Without Immigrants" went quite well. Here's an article covering the protestive festivities. I've been thinking about another idea that might be worth pursuing:

A Day Without Republicans.

And I know what you're thinking. "But Matt...who will make our Freedom Fries? Who will pretend that Iraq is a success?"

I don't know...the libertarians probably. I would propose a Day Without Democrats, but we've had that every day for six years now.

How about a day without mainstream media? Just when I thought that they were getting a bit of their spine back, they crumpled like wet noodle before the hard hitting satire dished out by Stephen Colbert.

So far I have heard only Helen Thomas and Keith Olbermann praise Colbert's performance. One is an octogenarian and the other used to be a sportscaster. The rest of the "brave" journalists have signed an unholy pact to make Colbert "go away."

That was such an amazing performance. He was right there, just a few feet away from the president, looking him in the eye the whole time. Bush lives in such a hermetically sealed bubble, it was so nice to see him squirm like that.

Now be fair, democrats like Conyers and Feingold and Kennedy have been there all along.

And some of us democrats have been blogging and organizing and fighting for a while now, but I am going on vacation. Just made reservations to NY a few hours ago, so you'll have not just a day, but two weeks without Sheryl. Yea!!!

Maybe they will have computers in the hostels. I wouldn't be surprised. A lot of hostels do these days. :-)
