Random bits of info. Regular posting? Not so much.
First of all, congratulations to Girl With An Alibi on her recent marriage. That's exciting news, and she has descriptions of the happy ceremony up at her site.
I've been a bit too insomnious to post much this week. When I do sleep I tend to have completely weird dreams. Last night I dreamt that I was playing poker with about six other people...instead of cards, we were all playing with photographs of mutant horses. That...can't be good.
I'm excited because the new novel by Myla Goldberg is out! Her first novel, Bee Season, was great and Wickett's Remedy looks...well, I don't even care really. She wrote it so I can't wait to like it.
Another reason I haven't been posting much this week: there is some chance that Shanry O'Mallet will be getting his own comic strip. We're interested in trying to take this a bit further, so I've spent much of this week working on a bigger storyline for our beloved deity. This is still in a very early, embryonic phase, so I have no idea what specifically might happen, or if anything will happen, so updates as they're available. [If you're not familiar with Shanry, here is the post where he is introducted, here is his first comic strip.]
I have possibly eaten 8 to 10 gallons of tomato soup this week. Send help.
Thanks

You should do a multi-tiered campaign for Shanry. Launch the strip, have him write his own blog, and start doing cafe-press for shirts/hats/whatever all at the same time. The Word O'Shanry will be spread.

Actually I hadn't even considered the Shanry blog, that's a really good idea. If the strip happens I am completely down with merchandise, I will whore the crap out of him, maybe start up a whole line of tiny clothes...or Shanry Panties. Okay, maybe not the Shanry Panties.

Drinking 8 to 10 gallons of tomato soup isn't good for for you if it is canned soup, since canned soup has lots of salt in it, and lots of salt is hazardous for health.
Instead, drink 8 to 10 gallons of beer.

On beer: apparently Guinness originally gained popularity as a meal supplement back when food was scarce.
So don't go drinking any beer, make it the Carnation Instant Breakfast of beers, and you'll be good to go.

Tomatoes are supposedly high in serotonin, which supposedly produces melatonin needed for sleep. Seems like a good idea for the insomnia., although a bay leaf tea might work better.
Anything with high concentrations of eucalyptus can't put ya to sleep.

Richard: "Instead, drink 8 to 10 gallons of beer"
A local restaraunt serves a really good beer/cheese soup, so I may just go crazy on that, get the best of both worlds.
impulsive: I really love me some Guinness, hoo. I'm pretty sure I could subsist entirely on a diet of Guinness, with a little Shiner Bock thrown in every now and then. Quality booze.
Sheryl: I wasn't aware of the tomato thing actually, that's good news. Maybe I'll just cut down and eat an entire eucalyptus tree...using, perhaps, a ranch dip or something.

If down this road this does actually come together, I think I'll send all of my blogging buddies a complimentary pair of Shanry Panties, spread the wealth.

Shiner Bock--now you're talking!!!
Just so I don't get accused of second degree murder, eucalyptol is deadly toxic in certain levels. A tea of 2 bay leaves would probably be more than strong enough to knock you out. I think 1 leaf was enough for me. Doesn't taste very nice though. A lot of people drink spearmint or chamomile teas instead, but it's till the eucalytol that's knocking them out. Just costs more.

Wow, Matt Thanks for the congrats and the shout out.
As for Shanry I'm so down with the Shanry-Panties. Let me know when they're on the market.
I think there needs to be insight into Shanry influence throughout history. I mean you don't want folks thinking he's just some Shanry-Come-Lately on the divinity scene... even if it's true.

Send help.
Relax, FEMA's on the way.
You did lay in a 3 yr supply tomato soup though because FEMA isn't intened for actual Emergency Management, just snappy dressing.
